It was discovered in Nigeria in 1969 in Borno state. It got its name from a town called lassa it is also an hemorrhagic disease in the sense that it causes bleeding of blood vessels like ebola. The disease does not yet have a vaccine the virus has an incubation period of six to twenty one days
